NCPD: Valley Stream Man in Police Custody for Assaulting Medical Personnel, Police Officers

Fifth Squad Detectives report the arrest of a Valley Stream man for an Assault that occurred on Saturday, April 13, 2024 at 8:47 pm in Valley Stream.
According to detectives, officer responded to a Fir Street residence for a male needing medical attention.  Upon arrival, officers located the male and determined he needed medical evaluation and treatment.  The male became verbally combative.  Officers made multiple attempts to deescalate the situation but the male became irate and physical.  During the struggle, an officer fell to the ground, injuring his left arm and both hands.  The male proceeded to spit on officers.  Yves Fenelon, 30, of Valley Stream, was subdued and arrested.
Fenelon was transported to an area hospital for evaluation and treatment.

Defendant Fenelon is charged with Assault 2nd Degree, Criminal Mischief 3rd Degree and Resisting Arrest.  He will be arraigned on April 14, 2024 at First District Court, Hempstead.
