Two in Police Custody in After Allegedly Stealing Nearly $1,300 in Meds & Merchandise from North Bellmore Pharmacy

The First Squad reports the arrest of two New York City men for a Burglary that occurred on Thursday, March 28, 2024 at 9:09 p.m. in North Bellmore.
According to Detectives, Kyle C. Morgan, 22, of 3401 3rd Avenue in the Bronx, and Tyrone L. Owens Jr., 19, of 638 Hawthorne Street in Brooklyn, walked into the Walgreens, located at 703 Newbridge Road in North Bellmore, and proceeded to the pharmacy. Defendant Morgan entered and remained in a secured area marked off as “Employees Only.” He removed various medications, along with assorted merchandise from the shelves and exited the store without paying for anything. The stolen merchandise totaled over $1,296 USC. Upon Police arrival, Officers began looking for the suspects and communicating with other local departments, such as Freeport Police who reported a similar incident that occurred, a short time ago, within their jurisdiction.
Freeport Police located the suspects during a lawful vehicle traffic stop in the vicinity of Grand Avenue and Mount Avenue. Both defendants were arrested without incident. Upon further investigation by Detectives, it was determined the defendants were also responsible for the following crimes:
  • March 28, 2024 at Walgreens, 89 Henry Street in Freeport-Grand Larceny
  • March 24, 2024 at CVS, 421 Glen Cove Road in East Hills-Burglary
  • March 15, 2024 at CVS, 2291 Merrick Road in Merrick-Criminal Mischief
  • March 08, 2024 at Rite-Aid, 5125 Merrick Road in Massapequa-Burglary
  • March 03, 2024 at CVS, 777 South Oyster Bay Road in Bethpage-Larceny
Defendant Owens is charged with two counts of Petit Larceny, Criminal Mischief 3rd degree, two counts of Burglary 3rd Degree, Grand Larceny 4th degree, and Criminal Possession of Stolen Property 4th degree.
Defendant Morgan is charged with Petit Larceny, Grand Larceny 4th degree, Criminal Possession Stolen Property 4th degree, three counts Burglary 3rd degree, Criminal Mischief 3rd degree, and Possession of Burglars Tools. Defendant Morgan has an open Warrant out of Port Chester for Larceny.
Both defendants were arraigned on Friday, March 29, 2024 at First District Court, 99 Main Street in Hempstead.
