NCPD: Rockville Centre Man Arrested after Assaulting Employee, Stealing Cash at Convenience Store

The Fourth Squad reports the arrest of a Rockville Centre man for a Robbery that occurred on Sunday, December 3, 2023 at 2:25 pm in Oceanside.
According to detectives, officers responded to a disturbance at Venom Beer and Convenience, located at 230 Merrick Road. Upon arrival, officers were informed that Stephen J. Jensen, 27, of 100 Banks Avenue, entered the store and caused a disturbance.
Defendant Jensen was asked by a female employee, 27, to leave the store numerous times before he pushed her and threw a metal case at the victim causing her to suffer a minor injury to her left shoulder.
The female victim later discovered that two $1 bills, displayed on the office desk, had been removed by the defendant before he fled the scene. A short time later, officers located Jensen and placed him under arrest without incident.
Subsequent to the investigation, both $1 bills were recovered from the defendants left jacket pocket by detectives.
Defendant Stephen J. Jensen is charged with Robbery 2nd Degree, two (2) counts of Assault 2nd Degree and Criminal Possession of Stolen Property 5th Degree. He will be arraigned on Monday, December 4, 2023 at First District Court, 99 Main Street, Hempstead.
