Assemblyman Flood Attends Public Hearing Regarding Human Trafficking Legislation

Share

Assemblyman Ed Flood (R,C-Port Jefferson) attended a public hearing regarding human trafficking as a bipartisan effort to pass meaningful legislation combating human trafficking, removing statutes of limitations for prosecuting human traffickers and allowing victims the right to seek civil damages.
“Human trafficking is a heinous crime that exploits individuals through force, coercion and deception, subjecting them to unimaginable suffering and stripping away their basic human rights. It is of the utmost importance that this crime is addressed by the Assembly and we all work together to combat it. Next year I will continue to support legislation such as Assemblyman Jeffrey Dinowitz’s legislation (A.1940) to aid victims and ensure those who commit these crimes are held accountable,” said Flood.
