Massapequa Man Busted with 113 Cases of Fireworks, 400 Mortars, Cops Say

The Arson & Bomb Squad reports the arrest of a Massapequa man that occurred on Saturday, July 1, 2023 at 3:30 pm in Massapequa.
According to detectives, Michael Masone, 37, of 182A East Shore Road, was placed under arrest during an investigation conducted by Arson Bomb Squad. After a thorough investigation, detectives seized 113 cases of fireworks and 400 mortars belonging to the defendant.
For the safety and security of all residents and visitors, Nassau County Police will continue their zero-tolerance approach regarding the possession and illegal use of fireworks.
The Nassau County Police Department reminds its residents that the use of explosives, including fireworks, is illegal and extremely dangerous.
Defendant Michael Masone is charged with Explosives–Licenses and Certificates, Unlawful Storage of Explosives and Unlawfully Possessing Fireworks. He will be arraigned Sunday, July 2, 2023 at First District Court, 99 Main Street, Hempstead.
