The Third Squad reports the Arrest of a Hempstead man on Thursday, May 4, 2023 at 1:35pm in East Garden City.
According to Detectives, store security observed Defendant Christian Chavez, 20, of 7 Attorney Street enter the Nordstrom store located at 630 Old Country Road. The defendant selected a pair of shorts, concealed them in a bag and passed all points of purchase and exited the store.
Officers placed the defendant under arrest without incident and the proceeds were recovered. Subsequent to the investigation, a black colored 9mm Glock 26 was recovered from the defendant.
Defendant Christian Chavez is charged with two counts of Criminal Possession of a Weapon 2nd Degree and Petit Larceny.
He will be arraigned on Wednesday, May 5, 2023 in First District Court 99 Main Street Hempstead.
