Cops: Four Suspects Arrested in Connection with Stealing Spree at Roosevelt Field Mall

The Public Information Office reports four Arrests for a Grand Larceny that occurred on Saturday, April 29, 2023 at 4:13 PM in East Garden City.
According to Detectives, three suspects entered the Macys located in the Roosevelt Field Mall 630 Old Country Road and were observed by security placing selected merchandise into a white tote bag.
The first suspect, carrying the white tote bag passed all points of purchase and exited the store without paying for the merchandise. He proceeded to walk over to a silver colored 2006 Honda Civic with a Texas registration of SNT9587 that was occupied by a fourth male suspect.
Suspect one entered the vehicle with the tote bag, at that time Suspect four drove the vehicle to a different section of the parking lot where Suspect one exited the vehicle without the bag and re-entered Macys.
Suspect one gathered the merchandise selected by Suspects two and three, placed them into another tote bag and again exited the store without paying for the merchandise and went back to the Honda.  At that time, Suspect one and four were placed under arrest without incident by Officers called to the scene.
Suspects two and three selected and concealed additional merchandise, exited the store without paying and walked over to the same Honda Civic where both were also placed under arrest without incident.
All proceeds totaling more than $7000.00 were recovered.  The vehicle was impounded.  Subsequent to the investigation a forged United States of America Permanent Resident Identification card with Defendant Yhoiver Jonas Leon Alvarado’s photo was recovered.
Arrested are: Suspect one / Defendant Yhoiver Jonas Leon Alvarado, 24, of Jamaica New York who was charged with Grand Larceny 3rd Degree and Criminal Possession of a Forged Instrument 3rd Degree.  Suspects two, three and four / Defendant Angelo Amundaray, 31, of 2-26 Beach 101 Street Far Rockaway; Defendant Jarwin Josue Valero Calderon, 26, of 112-16 Atlantic Avenue Brooklyn; Defendant Edwig Pacheco, 23,  (no further) were all charged with Grand Larceny 3rd Degree.
The Defendants were arraigned in First District Court 99 Main Street Hempstead.
