Nassau County Delays Tax Lien Sales to Provide Relief for Struggling Residents and Businesses

Share

Nassau County Executive Laura Curran has announced that her requested law delaying tax lien sales to provide relief for struggling residents and businesses due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic has been passed by the County Legislature. The following is a statement released by Curran:

“I am pleased that, at my request, the County Legislature passed a local law to move the County’s tax lien sale from this month to on or about May 3, 2021, to provide some relief for struggling residents and business owners who have not paid their 2019-2020 general and/or school tax bills,” she said. “I will continue to provide breathing room for taxpayers as many continue to face serious economic and job losses, while also coping with health concerns of the pandemic.”
