As COVID continues to hold its grip across the state, the nursing staff at NYU Langone Hospital – Long Island continues to provide compassionate care but are still feeling the impact of this cases just as the community’s public displays of supportive sirens and mass cheering continue to fade.
In an effort to boost these nurses’ spirits around the Valentine’s Day holiday, Notre Dame Catholic School, Principal Caryn Durkin teamed up with the school’s 3rd and 4th grade students to create Valentine’s Day cards to express their appreciation for these healthcare heroes. The students met with Valeri Terzano, PhD(c), RN, NEA-BC Vice President Nursing & Patient Care, at NYU Langone Hospital – Long Island via ZOOM to show off their individual Valentine’s Day cards.
