Canon Unveils Cameras with Next Gen Tech

Share

Melville-based Canon U.S.A has unveiled  two cameras with what it’s billing as “the next generation” of technology designed for advanced amateur photographers.

The company in September will begin selling two new interchangeable lens cameras, the EOS 90D and EOS M6 Mark II.

The company said these “two models usher in the next generation” of Canon Advanced Photo System type C sensor cameras and cost north of $1,000.

“With the introduction of these cameras, Canon is reaffirming its continued commitment to a broad range of photographers by offering them the digital imaging tools required to meet their needs,” Canon U.S.A. President and COO Kazuto Ogawa said in a written statement.

The EOS 90D is capable of shooting 10 frames per second, up from seven in the previous generation.

“Users can capture all of the action on the sidelines of a football game or wildlife while on safari,” according to the company.

That camera’s sensors allow for 220,000 pixels and it uses what’s known as EOS iTR AF or “face priority” detection.

“Together, these two features allow for the detection and tracking of faces in various environments and shooting situations while using the viewfinder,” according to the company.

The compact and lightweight EOS M6 Mark II brings the controls and functionality of a Canon EOS DSLR into a compact mirrorless camera.

The EOS M6 Mark II  can shoot up to 14 frames per second or 30 frames per second in what’s known as RAW Burst Mode with pre-shooting capabilities. It also has a 3-inch, touch-panel LCD screen that can tilt in order to take a selfie.
