Henry Schein is helping dentist and physician practices raise awareness and support for a cure for breast cancer and other cancers through a wide range of pink products, including practice supplies, and apparel.
The Melville-based distributor of products to physicians and dentists said it over 13 years has raised more than $1.6 million for cancer research, prevention and awareness through its Practice Pink program.
Schein through Practice Pink works with non-governmental organizations and supplier partners across North America and Europe through this program within Henry Schein Cares, its global corporate social responsibility program.
Schein through this program partners with the American Cancer Society every year to “raise awareness and support a cure for breast cancer” through Schein’s Practice Pink program.
A portion of the proceeds from the sale of the pink products is donated to the American Cancer Society and some other groups for lifesaving research, prevention and early detection of the disease and to support programs for thousands of cancer patients and their families.
“By mobilizing the participation of Henry Schein’s supplier partners and customers in this initiative, Henry Schein Cares helps raise awareness of this important national health issue and provides concrete support to further American Cancer Society goals,” according to the company.
The Practice Pink program supports U.S.-based organizations such as the American Cancer Society, Northwell Health’s Cohen Children’s Medical Center, Stony Brook Children’s Hospital and the Memorial Sloan Kettering/Henry Schein Cares Women’s Health Center.
In Europe, the program supports organizations such as the Italian League for the Fight Against Cancer, Germany-based Brustkrebs Deutschland and Federacja Stowarzyszeń Amazonki in Poland.
