X – the short-form social media platform previously known as Twitter before it was purchased by tech mogul Elon Musk in 2022 – is currently suffering widespread outages that are effecting thousands, with users directing a tidal wave of complaints over their inability to access their accounts.
X users reportedly began experiencing error messages and broken timelines at approximately 9 a.m. on Monday, June 22; Downdetector – a website that checks if services for various online platforms are down based on real-time user reports and shows live status updates and outages people are experiencing – noted that X went from a small handful of issues to almost 30,000 at that time.
Complaints by X users ranged from the service flat-out refusing to load to partial functionality with certain “key features” not working.
This is a developing story; LongIsland.com will provide more information is it becomes available.
