Woodmere Rehab Center Worker Arrested for Repeatedly Assaulting 71-Year-Old Resident Suffering from Cognitive Disorder

Fourth Squad Detectives report the arrest of a Queens woman for an Assault that occurred on Tuesday, May 7, 2024 at 8:50 am in Woodmere.
According to detectives, the male victim, 71, suffers from a cognitive disorder and was found to have bruises on 05/03/2024.  The male was under the care of Woodmere Rehab Center, located at 130 Irving Place.  The victim’s legal guardian questioned the facility and was advised the victim fell out of bed multiple times.  The legal guardian placed a camera in the victim’s room.
While watching the camera, a woman was observed striking the victim multiple times with a closed fist in his face and lower body.  The subject shook him multiple times.  The legal guardian responded to the facility and observed bruising on the victim’s face that was not present when she last saw him.  Police were notified and Lisa Napier, 41, of 144-12 225th Street Laurelton, was arrested without incident.
Defendant Napier is charged with Assault 2nd Degree, Endangering the Welfare of Incompetent/Physically Disabled Person 1st Degree and Endanger Vulnerable Elderly/Incompetent Person 2nd Degree.  She will be arraigned on Wednesday, May 8, 2024 at First District Court, Hempstead.
