Police: Rockville Centre Man and His 2 Sons Arrested After Violent Brawl, Shootings

The First Squad reports the arrest of three Rockville Centre men for Assault and Weapons charges stemming from a disturbance that occurred on Saturday, April 27, 2024 at 4:40 p.m. in Rockville Centre.
According to Detectives, a disturbance involving a physical altercation did occur on the side of the building of 30 Old Mill Court between multiple individuals known to each other. During the physical altercation defendant Kevin Cooper, 56, did accidentally discharge a loaded 9-millimeter Taurus handgun which he was carrying inside his hooded sweatshirt pocket, causing injuries to his abdomen and surrounding areas.
The discharge caused the participants in the altercation to disperse.
Defendant Kevin S. Cooper Jr., 34, did point a handgun at 50-year-old female victim, placing her in fear for her life, he then struck the female victim with the firearm causing injuries requiring her to be hospitalized.
Following this, Cooper Jr., and his brother, defendant, Devin Cooper, 27, did run after a male victim who was fleeing. Cooper Jr. pointed a loaded American Tactical, .22 caliber, defaced, handgun at the fleeing victim. He then handed the firearm to defendant Devin Cooper who fired two rounds in the direction of the victim. Both firearms were recovered. All three defendants reside at 29 Old Mill Road.
The three defendants are charged with two counts of Criminal Possession of a Weapon, 2nd degree, Reckless Endangerment, 1st degree, Criminal Possession of a Weapon 3rd degree, Criminal Possession of a Firearm, and Criminal Possession of a Weapon, 4th degree. Defendant Kevin Cooper Jr. is additionally charged with Assault 2nd degree. Defendant Kevin Cooper will be arraigned when medically practical. Defendants Kevin Cooper Jr. and Devin Cooper will be arraigned on Sunday, April 28, 2024 at First District Court, 99 Main Street Hempstead.
