Marshall Warren, a Laurel Hollow native who has enjoyed a great deal of success as a college hockey player, has been signed by the New York Islanders to a two-year, entry-level contract.
Warren, 22, will initially be assigned to play with the NY Islanders’ American Hockey League (AHL) affiliate team, Bridgeport Islanders – based in Bridgeport, Connecticut, and who play their home games at the Total Mortgage Arena – on an amateur tryout agreement (ATO) for the rest of the 2023-24 season.
If successful in Bridgeport, he will be called up to the main NY Islanders team for the 2024-2025 season.
A defenseman, Warren played in in 41 games at the University of Michigan this past season, during which time he scored 18 points. Prior to that, he played four seasons at Boston College from 2019-23, scoring a total of 57 points (20 goals, 37 assists) over the course of 130 games.
He was also a member of the United States Team National Development Program from 2017-19, and competed at the 2019 IIHF Under-18 World Junior Championships, where he won a bronze medal.
