Man Trespassed from Bellerose 7-11 Returns to Urinate on the Business, Later Assaults Arresting Officers

The Third Squad reports the arrest of a Bellerose man for an incident that occurred on Tuesday, April 16, 2024 at 12:53 am in Bellerose.
According to detectives, Third Precinct officers responded to 7-11, located at 250-50 Jericho Turnpike for a disturbance. Upon arrival, officers were informed by a 53-year-old male employee that the defendant, Amrit Bhatti, 25, of 8770 254th Street was no longer allowed in the store.
The defendant left the store but returned a short while later and urinated on the property then entered a 2014 BMW and fled the scene. Officers attempted to perform a Vehicle and Traffic Law stop in front of the location and the defendant reversed his vehicle into the 7-11 parking lot.
As officers removed the defendant from his vehicle, he was violent and combative resulting in injuries to two officers. The defendant was placed into police custody. Two officers were transported to local hospitals for treatment of their injuries.
Defendant Bhatti is charged with two counts of Assault 2nd Degree, Aggravated Unlicensed Operation 2nd Degree, Resisting Arrest, Obstructing Governmental Administration 2nd Degree and Disorderly Conduct. He will be arraigned on Tuesday, April 16, 2024 at First District Court, 99 Main Street, Hempstead.
