Rep. LaLota Recognizes Suffolk County Police Explorers

Share

This week, Rep. Nick LaLota (R-Suffolk County), the son and grandson of Police Officers, spoke on the floor of the House to recognize the Suffolk County Police Department’s Police Explorers program.

“Several weeks ago I had the chance to meet with Suffolk County PD Sgt. Linda Piotrowski at my Hauppauge office. In addition to discussing public safety, Sgt. Piotrowski brought the Police Explorers program to my attention,” said LaLota. “As the son and grandson of Police Officers, I am thrilled to see efforts to increase Law Enforcement recruitment numbers and interest in a career of service in the next generation. We must continue to support and back the blue at every opportunity.”

Background:

Participants in the Police Explorers program must show an interest in a Law Enforcement career, meet minimum academic standards, and have no criminal convictions or history.

The Explorers Program is a “learning for life” program, which provides participants with Police training and community service experience.
