New Study Paws-itively Reveals New York’s Favorite Dog to be the Golden Retriever!

Share

A new study by pet nutrition experts PetLab deserves a round of a-paws for shedding light on New York’s official favorite breed of man’s best friend: the Golden Retriever!
The study looked over the favorite breed of dog on a state by state basis, and New York was not alone in their love of the Golden Retriever, as a total of 38 states also voted the adorable pooch as their favorite.
PetLab Arrived at their findings by utilizing Google’s keyword planner to look up search terms of those looking to either buy or adopt among over 200 dog breeds recognized by the American Kennel Club over the course of the past calendar year. They then used that information to determine the top searched-for doggy in each state in the country.
The reason for the Golden Retriever’s popularity, according to PetLab, is due to the fact that the breed is noted for it’s kind and friendly nature and ability to be easily trained. Many celebrities are also noted Golden Retriever owners, increasing their appeal even further.
“Whether people are looking to adopt, foster, buy, or just browse through cute pictures online of dogs, it is clear to see the US is obsessed with our furry friends,” said a PetLab representative. “It is interesting to see that the most popular breed across the country, the Golden Retriever, has popularity by a landslide with some of the most populated states opting for the charming breed.”
Coming in after the Golden Retriever is the French Bulldog in second place, the Bernese Mountain Dog in third, the Newfoundland in fourth, and the Dogo Argentino in fifth.
