Far Rockaway Man Busted with Illegal Firearm During Traffic Stop, According to Authorities

The Fourth Squad reports the arrest of a Far Rockaway man for Criminal Possession of a Firearm that occurred on Saturday, February 17, 2024 at 1:30 am in Inwood.
According to Detectives, Officers observed a white 2011 Chevrolet Camaro traveling westbound on Bayview Avenue failing to obey a traffic control device. Officers activated their emergency lights and conducted a Vehicle and Traffic Law stop.
After a Police investigation was conducted, an unloaded firearm was recovered from inside the vehicle. Nilser S. Rivera-Rivas, 23, of 1430 Pearl Street was placed under arrest without incident.
Defendant Rivera-Rivas is charged with Criminal Possession of a Firearm and multiple Vehicle and Traffic Law violations. He will be arraigned on Saturday, February 17, 2024 at First District Court 99 Main Street, Hempstead.
