Third Annual Southold WinterFest, Bigger and Better for 2024

Share

In early-December, Southold Town officially announced its Third Annual WinterFest event. Since then, interest has exploded with over 55 local businesses and organizations participating and upwards of two thousand visitors expected. This much anticipated, annual happening takes place on Main Road in Southold Village between the hours of 10:00 AM and 3:00 PM on Saturday, February 17, 2024 (rain date is February 18, 2024).

“We’ve had operations meetings, email campaigns, personal follow-ups, media outreach, social media posts and have WLNG radio advertising starting soon. The response so far has been tremendous,” said Jack Malley, chairperson of the Southold Town Economic Development Committee (“EDC”). He went on, “We have this great hometown event planned and now we want to be sure the North Fork community and our welcomed visitors know about it. We want nothing less than maximum support and involvement. For example, compared to last year, almost twice the local businesses and organizations are participating. And, we are expecting a fun, enthusiastic crowd of close to two thousand people.”

Southold WinterFest, originally developed in 2022, is provided at no cost to all residents and visitors. It includes live entertainment, free food and beverage samples, fun activities for adults and children, special events, as well as free prizes and gift raffles. Restaurant, pub and winery favorites like Maroni Cuisine, Latin Fuzion, Southold General, North Fork Taps and Corks, Eastern Front Brewery and Pindar Vineyards will be giving out free beverage and food samples.

Some of the many activities include a DJ, Swing and Latin dance lessons, shows at CAST with the Caribbean Vibe Steel Drum Band and Lucy Kalantari and the Jazz Cats. The popular Foster Europe Band and the talented Jay Shepard Band will be playing at the Village Green. There will also be main stage events at the First Presbyterian Church with Lady T’s Highway Dancers and the Hoodoo Loungers band. The event includes a caricaturist, crafting workshops, cupcake decorating, free drawings for gift baskets and jewelry, face painting and glitter tattooing, flame throwing, hair tinseling, ice sculpting, a popcorn station, a snow making machine and even a WinterFest “Selfie” Station.
