Three Busted for Shoplifting, Drug Possession in Oceanside, According to Authorities

The Fourth Squad reports the arrest of three individuals from Hempstead for an incident that occurred on Thursday, December 7, 2023 at 11:30 am in Oceanside.
According to Detectives, Officers responded for a Larceny in progress at Marshalls, located at 3544 Long Beach Road, where three individuals, who were acting in concert and concealing merchandise, exited the store without rendering payment.
Officers located the individuals in the parking lot and a total of $1,428.00 worth of merchandise was recovered. Defendant Kevin Joyner, 56, of 91 S. Franklin Street, Defendant Lori Menendez, 47, of 17 Sycamore Avenue and Defendant Richard Dean, 39, of 151 S. Franklin Avenue were arrested without incident.
Subsequent to the investigation, it was determined that the defendants also removed merchandise from Kohls, located at 3600 Long Beach Road, totaling $1019.91 which was also recovered. All recovered merchandise was returned to the proper stores.
Upon placing the defendants Joyner and Menendez under arrest they were in possession of a white powdery substance believed to be cocaine and a clear glass pipe containing a burnt substance believed to be crack cocaine.
Defendant Kevin Joyner is charged with Grand Larceny 4th Degree, Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 7th Degree and Burglary 3rd Degree. He will be arraigned on Friday, December 8, 2023 at First District Court 99 Main Street, Hempstead.  Defendant Lori Menendez is charged with Grand Larceny 4th Degree, three (3) counts of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 7th Degree and Criminal Possession of Stolen Property 4th Degree. She will also be arraigned on Friday, December 8, 2023 at First District Court. Defendant Richard Dean is charged with Grand Larceny 4th Degree and was released on an Appearance Ticket returnable on Thursday, December 21, 2023 to First District Court.
