Shane was previously named Assistant Chief Campus Counsel in 2015 and has been a member of the OGC at Stony Brook since 2010.

“Working closely with Suzanne, I have witnessed a collaborative leader committed to advocating in the best interests of Stony Brook and its students, faculty and staff,” said President McInnis. “Her strong analytical skills combined with her thoughtful legal counsel on operational and governance issues continue to guide and strengthen our university,” said President McInnis.

Prior to joining Stony Brook, Shane served as Associate Counsel at Long Island University from 2004-2010 where she assisted General Counsel in management of the university’s legal affairs department and provided advice and counsel on a broad range of issues with specific emphasis  on transactional and contractual matters.
