PSEG Long Island recently gave a grant of $10,000 to the Greater Port Washington Business Improvement District to support local businesses, shopping and dining along Main Street. The Outdoor Commerce and Beautification grant funded the purchase of 15 giant lighted snowflakes (pictured above) that are hanging up and down Main Street in Port Washington for the holiday season.
“We are pleased to provide this beautification grant to support shopping, dining and tourism in Port Washington’s downtown,” said Veronica Isaac, manager of Customer and Community Partnerships at PSEG Long Island. “This grant was created for business groups to support their members with items to help them thrive. These beautiful snowflakes enhance the aesthetic of this robust downtown and will hopefully brighten the holidays for shoppers and visitors.”

The PSEG Long Island Chamber Outdoor Commerce and Beautification grant program was created to support aesthetic enhancements and downtown improvement projects in municipalities. Since 2020, nearly $375,000 has been distributed across Long Island and the Rockaways.
