Arson/Bomb Squad Detectives report the arrest of a Uniondale man for Unlawfully Selling Fireworks on Wednesday, December 27, 2023 at 8:00 pm in Uniondale.
According to detectives, an investigation was conducted at the Uniondale 99 Cents Dollar Discount Store located at 1054 Jerusalem Avenue. During the investigation detectives observed several boxes of assorted fireworks displayed for sale near the cashier. Detectives recovered approximately 486 firework items from the location. Mohammad Yousuf, 65, of 1040 Brookside Avenue was arrested without incident.
Defendant Yousuf is charged with Unlawfully Selling Fireworks and multiple Explosive offenses under New York State Labor Law. He will be arraigned on Thursday, December 28, 2023 at First District Court, Hempstead.
