The First Squad reports the arrest of two men for an incident that occurred on Sunday, December 17, 2023 at 8:50 pm in Uniondale.
According to Detectives, Criminal Intelligence Rapid Response Team (CIRRT) officers were on patrol in Uniondale when they observed a narcotics transaction.
Officers approached the subjects and stopped them in front of 814 Nassau Road. During the investigation one of the subjects became combative and both subjects were placed into police custody. Subsequent to the investigation a loaded 9mm Ruger and three (3) Methylenedioxy-methamphetamine (MDMA) pills were recovered from Zayne Henry Barnaby, 41, of 21819 132nd Ave, Laurelton. A white powdery substance believed to be Cocaine was recovered from James Mcclendon, 44, of 360 Brookside Avenue, Roosevelt. No injuries were reported.
Defendant Barnaby is charged with Criminal Possession of a Weapon 2nd Degree, Criminal Possession of a Weapon 3rd Degree, Criminal Possession of a Firearm, Criminal Possession of a Weapon 4th Degree, Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 4th Degree, Obstructing Governmental Administration 2nd Degree and Resisting Arrest.
Defendant Mcclendon is charged with Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 7th Degree. They will both be arraigned on Monday, December 18, 2023 at First District Court, 99 Main Street, Hempstead.
