Wife, Children of Accused Gilgo Beach Killer Rex Heuermann to Receive $1 Million Payday for Documentary Participation

The family of accused Gilgo Beach killer and Massapequa Park resident Rex Heuermann are set to recieve a whopping $1 million payday for their participation in an upcoming NBC/Peacock documentary.

Asa Ellerup, Heuermann’s wife, and their children, Victoria and Christopher – both adults – will have their lives chronicled during their estranged patriarch’s trial.

According to a NewsNation report, the reason that Ellerup had not engaged with the media until now was because she had already inked the deal with NBC.

“There’s a reason why she hasn’t talked to the media at all because she has signed a major deal with the documentary crew,” said NewsNation’s senior story editor Paula Froelich.

The compensation they are said to be getting is “at least” $1 million.

The attorneys representing the family are also believed to be recieving impressive pay for their participation in the docmuentary as well, with Ellerup’s lawyer, Robert Macedonio, reportedly having signed a $400,000 deal, and Vess Mitev – who represents the two children – getting $200,000.

As Heuermann will not be recieving any money associated with the NBC docmuentary, the deal with his family is not subject to New York State’s “Son of Sam” law that prevent lawbreakers from profiting from selling their stories.

Heuermann has pleaded not guilty to the charges.

Heuermann, an architect by trade, made national headlines when was arrested on July 13 as a suspect in the Gilgo Beach case; he was charged the following day in the murders of three of “the Gilgo Four” victims: Amber Lynn Costello, 27, Melissa Barthelemy, 24, and Megan Waterman, 22.

Authorities say he may have been involved with the deaths of additional victims connected to the case as well, and is also currently the prime suspect in the death of Maureen Brainard-Barnes, 25.

Only six days after his arrest, Ellerup filed for divorce.
