The New York State Department of Transportation is advising motorists of the following ramp closures at the Southern State Parkway/Meadowbrook State Parkway interchange in the Town of Hempstead, Nassau County on Tuesday, November 14, between the hours of 10 p.m. and 5 a.m., weather permitting, to facilitate highway maintenance:
- Exit 22N from eastbound Southern Parkway to northbound Meadowbrook Parkway. Traffic will be detoured to Exit 24N for northbound Merrick Avenue.
- Exit M6E from southbound Meadowbrook Parkway to eastbound Southern Parkway. Traffic will be detoured to Exit M7E for Babylon Turnpike eastbound.
Detour signs will be posted to direct motorists.

Motorists are urged to plan accordingly and drive responsibly in work zones. Fines are doubled for speeding in a work zone. Convictions of two or more speeding violations in a work zone could result in the suspension of an individual’s driver license.
