Over the weekend, 75 children from the Long Island area participated in the Holiday Hoops Experience presented by Sands New York and its Sands Cares Youth Empowerment Initiative.
The three-day event took place at Nassau Coliseum, where participants ages 8-14 were taught basketball fundamentals and sports safety by Long Island Nets Basketball Academy clinicians and were surprised by a visit from Long Island Nets players Patrick Gardner, Terry Roberts and Kameron Hankerson.
