The Fifth Squad reports an arrest has been made in connection with a disturbance incident that originally occurred on Monday, October 23, 2023 at 11:14 AM in Valley Stream.
According to Detectives, a male subject was inside the Clique clothing store located on the 2nd floor of the Green Acres Shopping Mall, located at 1015 Green Acres Mall, Sunrise Highway. The subject was removing clothing and attempted to leave when he was confronted by store security and a physical altercation ensued.
The altercation continued into the common area of the mall when the subject displayed a gun and discharged a single round. The subject fled the store and entered a red SUV leaving in an unknown direction. The mall was placed into lockdown for people’s safety as police responded. No injuries were reported at scene.
The fifth squad reports the arrest of Nicholas Aaron Hibbert for the above incident. He was placed into custody by Fifth Squad Detectives and Bureau of Special Operations Officers on Thursday, October 27, 2023.
Defendant Hibbert is charged with Attempted Murder 2nd degree, Robbery 1st degree, two counts of Criminal Possession of a Weapon 2nd degree, Criminal Use of a Firearm 2nd degree, Criminal Possession of Stolen Property 3rd degree, Reckless Endangerment 1st degree, Criminal Possession of a Firearm, and Criminal Possession of a Weapon 4th degree. He was arraigned on Friday, October 27, 2023 at First District Court, 99 Main Street, Hempstead.
