Mishap at JFK: JetBlue Plane Tips Back on Rear Landing Gear During Deplaning

While deplaning its passengers at New York’s John F. Kennedy International Airport, a JetBlue jet bizarrely lost its balance and tipped backwards on it’s rear landing gear in a seesaw-like manner.
The entire incident was captured by a bystander’s cellphone video, showing the plane’s nose rising up into the night air and away from the airport’s jet bridge.

JetBlue issued a statement regarding the incident, saying that “Once at the gate, due to a shift in weight and balance during deplaning, the tail of the aircraft tipped backward causing the nose of the aircraft to lift up and eventually return back down.”
No injuries were reported in connection with the incident, JetBlue noted, although reports have come in about passengers on the plane receiving quite a scare, as one would expect.
JetBlue said that they are “reviewing the incident” and that the plane will remain grounded while an inspection is carried out.
