Town of Huntington Street Renaming: “Rev. Bernadette R. Watkins Way” – Friday 9/15

Share

Councilman Dr. Dave Bennardo, along with the Huntington Town Board, will be hosting a street renaming ceremony commemorating Rev. Bernadette R. Watkins, a community and spiritual leader of Mt. Calvary Church.
Reverend Watkins has instilled core values of faith and community through her countless hours of service within the Town. She has provided for the community by feeding and sheltering those in need and providing care, love, comfort, and guidance to people of all ages.
She has also educated many in our community about African American History and has kept this alive through her dynamic collection of artifacts. Reverend Watkins is a selfless leader in both her Church and the Town of Huntington.
The members of Mt. Calvary Church, as well as residents of the Town of Huntington, have requested that the roadway on which Reverend Watkins has lived for many years be renamed in honor of the life and legacy she created on this street and within this community.
The location of the ceremony is at the intersection of Fairground Avenue and E. 4th Street in Huntington Station, NY.
