One lucky New York resident became a cool $1 million richer this past weekend after winning the second-place prize in the Powerball drawing held on Saturday, September 23, according to lottery officials.
The lucrative ticket was purchased at Chestnut Mart, located at 69 Theodore Fremd Avenue in Rye, which is in Westchester County.
Lottery players in Florida and California also scored $1 million prizes as well, officials say.
The $748,300,000 first prize was not claimed during Saturday’s drawing, however, bringing the jackpot for today’s drawing to a whopping 785,000,000.
