National Grid will sponsor “Car Wash for a Cause” to support The Safe Center, with its mission is to protect, assist and empower victims of family violence and sexual assault while challenging and changing social systems that tolerate and perpetuate abuse, on Tuesday, September 12, 2023 from 10am to 4pm, at the PSEG Brentwood Office, located at 1650 Islip Avenue, Brentwood, NY 11717.
Volunteers will wash and dry cars, SUVs and other vehicles for $10 (exterior only), with all proceeds supporting The Safe Center LI. Refreshments available and every wash comes with a FREE limited edition air freshener.
The event is part of National Grid’s “Week of Service 2023” to inspire positive change across its New York communities. Through partnerships and collaborations, National Grid seeks to create a more equitable future for every customer, in every community we serve. Last year, 540 employee volunteers completed 49 projects totaling more than 4,328 volunteer hours on Long Island. As a part of its Responsible Business Charter, National Grid is committed to amassing 500,000 hours of volunteering by 2030.
The Safe Center provides comprehensive and trauma-informed services for victims of interpersonal violence including domestic violence, child sexual and severe physical abuse, rape and sexual assault, human trafficking, and elder abuse.
