The Third Squad reports the arrest of a Hempstead resident for an incident that occurred on Monday, September 11, 2023 at 6:00 pm.
According to Detectives, Defendant Teron C. Ringgold, 32, was involved in a verbal argument with an 88-year-old female victim. The argument escalated and the defendant grabbed a knife, stabbing the victim multiple times. The victim was transported to a local area hospital for treatment of her injuries. She is listed in critical but stable condition.
Subsequent to the investigation, the Defendant was located by Hempstead Police Officers on Greenwich Street and after a brief struggle the defendant was placed into custody. No other injuries were reported.
Defendant Teron C. Ringgold is charged with Attempted Murder 2nd Degree, Assault 1st Degree, Criminal Possession of a Weapon 4th Degree, Resisting Arrest and Menacing a Police Officer. He will be arraigned on Tuesday, September 12, 2023 at First District Court 99 Main Street, Hempstead.
