Several Trader Joe’s Products May Contain Rock and Insects; Company Issues Recalls

Grocery chain Trader Joe’s has issued recalls for several products this week over concern that that they may potentially contain several foreign contaminants, including rocks and insects, according to the company.

Two of the products in question include Trader Joe’s Unexpected Broccoli Cheddar Soup (SKU# 68470) and Fully-Cooked Falafel (SKU# 93935), both with use-by dates between 07/18/23 – 09/15/23. The reason for the recall, Trader Joe’s said, is that both products may contain insects.

“No known adverse health effects have been reported to date, and all potentially affected product has been removed from sale and destroyed,” the company claimed in a statement.

In addition, Trader Joe’s noted that two of the company’s brands of cookies may contain rocks, including Almond Windmill Cookies (sell by 10/19/23 through 10/21/23) and Dark Chocolate Chunk and Almond Cookies (sell by 10/17/23 through 10/21/23).

The company said that customers could return any of the aforementioned recalled products to any Trader Joe’s location for a complete refund.
