National Weather Service Reports Tornado Touchdown in NYS During Recent Severe Weather

According to the National Weather Service, a Torndo touched down in New York State during the recnet bout of severe weather that included excessive rainfall and high winds that impacted much of the state.
The Tornado traveled from the town of Harford in Cortland County to the village of McGraw  in Tompkins County on Monday, August 7, and reportedly traveled 11 miles between 5:13 p.m. to 5:36 p.m.
The maximum wind speed of the tornado – EF-1 on the Enhanced Fujita scale – was said to have been 90 miles per hour and the maximum width was 200 yards.
No injuries were reported, although damage to trees and some structures were said to have taken place.
