As President, Ms. Farnan will be responsible for directing volunteer activities and community projects such as Girl’s Mic’d Up, Positively Me, Allied Foundation’s Diaper Drive, Thanksgiving Baskets and a myriad of “Done In A Day” volunteer opportunities that benefit Nassau & Suffolk Counties. The JLLI will also be accepting DIAD project proposals and volunteer requests throughout the year to continue fostering their impact into the community.

“Ever since a young age I have been raised to give back to my community by my parents and grandparents. I am honored to not only give back my time and talents to Long Island but serve in the role as President amongst so many dynamic women that share the passion of volunteering. The ladies of the League provide encouragement and engaging friendships not only to me, but to our community partners, donors, patrons and other members.” said Ms. Farnan. “There is truly no other place I’d rather serve than here, at this time, with my fellow volunteers.”
This League year will be focusing on Redefining the Junior League Woman. Throughout the 122 history of the Junior League internationally, and 72 years in the Long Island community we have seen women, especially our members guide the way in changing the role of which women are viewed and engaged as professionals, caregivers, civil leaders and volunteers. JLLI will be focusing on not only enriching their membership through both professional and personal development training but on nurturing strong and meaningful connections in the community in conjunction with each other.
The Junior League of Long Island also has appointed the below group of dynamic leaders to strategically serve to The League for the 2023 – 2024 year

The Thrift Shop has continued to thrive and reinvent itself following it’s 8-month closure due to flood repairs from September 2021 – April 2022. The Thrift Shop’s daily operations will be managed by Mr. Christopher Cooper in the capacity of Business Management Consultant. Mr. Cooper will continue to support JLLI through his innovative merchandising displays as he has for the last several years as well as guide the year round and seasonal staff in elevating the shop’s presence as formidable business that supports the needs of its community. All proceeds from the shop are used to fund the League’s programs that directly benefit communities on Long Island and to train our volunteers to continue to make an impact.
