Convicted killer Robert Chambers – dubbed the “Preppy Killer” and the “Central Park Strangler” after he strangled 18-year-old Jennifer Levin to death in New York City’s Central Park on August 26, 1986 – has reportedly been released on parole, with the now 56-year-old currently residing in New York’s Hudson Valley region after he was released from Ulster County’s Shawangunk Correctional Facility on July 25.
Chambers gained infamy when he claimed that he accidently killed Levin during “rough sex.” After a jury failed to reach a verdict after nine days of deliberation, he ultimately accepted a plea bargain and pleaded guilty to manslaughter; he was sentenced to 15 years in prison.
It is currently unknown where in the Hudson Valley that Chambers is currently living in, although a flyer being circulated on Facebook claims that he is residing in Spring Valley.
Chambers will be on parole until July 25, 2028.
