SCPD: Multiple Suspects Sold Alcohol, Nicotine, THC to Underage Agents

Third Precinct Problem Oriented Police Officers report multiple Arrests within the confines of the Third Precinct on Wednesday, June 22, 2023.
Officers assigned to the POP Unit in conjunction with Narcotics/Vice Squad and Third Squad Detectives conducted a Project 21 investigation targeting the sale of nicotine and alcohol products sold to underage agents.  The agents entered the following establishments where the store employees did not ask for the proper identification and sold alcohol/nicotine to the Police agents.
76 Gas Station located at 549 W. Jericho Turnpike, Mineola – Harjinder Singh, 50, of 2805 43rd Street Astoria, NY sold an alcohol product.  He was issued two Appearance Tickets returnable to First District Court 99 Main Street Hempstead on July 5, 2023.
Evolve Smoke Shop located at 234 W. Jericho Turnpike, Mineola – Ajwad U. Chowdhury, 22, of 401 Brix Place Uniondale, sold a nicotine product.  He was issued two Appearance Tickets returnable to First District Court 99 Main Street Hempstead on July 5, 2023.
Ultra Mini Mart located at 1501 Jericho Turnpike, New Hyde Park – Pankajkumar M. Shah, 61, of 6 Garden Circle Syosset, NY, sold a nicotine product.  The Defendant also sold an item containing Tetrahydrocannabinol (THC).  Officers observed and seized ninety (90) various products containing THC packaged for sale and $777 in US currency.  He was arrested and charged with Sale of Tobacco Product to a person under the age of 21 years old, Unlawfully Dealing with a Child 2nd Degree, two counts of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 5th Degree and Criminal Sale of a Controlled Substance. He will be arraigned on Friday, June 23, 2023 in First District Court 99 Main Street Hempstead.
It’s Lit Smoke Shop located at 225-06 Jamaica Avenue Bellerose Terrace – Noah G. Lakburlawal, 24, of 4506 80th Street Apartment 3e Elmhurst, NY sold a nicotine product.  Officers also observed various products containing Tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) packaged for sale.  Officers seized eight hundred and sixty-seven (867) THC products and $1,411 in US currency.  The Defendant is charged with Sale of Tobacco Product to a person under the age of 21 years old, Unlawfully Dealing with a Child 2nd Degree, Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 5th Degree and Criminal Sale of a Controlled Substance 5th Degree.  He will be arraigned on Friday, June 23, 2023 in First District Court 99 Main Street Hempstead.
