Primark, the international clothing retailer that offers quality fashion at value prices, today opened a new store at Green Acres Mall in Long Island, New York – its second store on Long Island, following shopper demand. This store will boast more than 35,000 square feet of retail selling space offering on-trend fashion, beauty, homeware and quality essentials for the whole family at affordable prices.
With this new store Primark continues its growth in and around New York. Green Acres will be the retailer’s seventh store in the state with another to come this summer in Albany. Primark also plans to open in Elizabeth, NJ, less than an hour from Manhattan in the coming weeks. Green Acres is the Ireland-based retailer’s 425th store globally and 18th store in the United States – part of Primark’s growth plan to reach 60 stores in the U.S. by 2026.
“Shoppers on Long Island have loved our store at Roosevelt Field Mall, and we are excited to spread the ‘Primania’ with this opening at Green Acres,” said Kevin Tulip, President Primark US. “We’ve seen a real appetite for quality fashion at affordable prices from US shoppers, and we’re ready to continue our growth plans to 60 stores, with more to come this summer. We can’t wait to welcome the community surrounding Green Acres Mall into our store for all the festivities this weekend and for many visits in the future.”
Opening weekend kicks off at 11 a.m. Thursday, June 22 with the store ribbon cutting and the weekend will feature family fun including a spin-to-win game for prizes, music from local DJ Nicole Otero and giveaways to participating shoppers on a first-come-first-served basis. The weekend will also serve up favorite local goodies while supplies last including Black & White Cookies from Vin’s Bake House on Thursday, donuts from Doughology on Friday and Italian Ice from Andy’s Italian Ices food truck on Saturday from 12-4 p.m. in the Primark parking lot.
