The Homicide Squad, along with the Arson Bomb Squad, report the details of a fire that occurred on Tuesday, May 23, 2023 at 3:06 a.m. in Herricks.
According to Detectives, Third Precinct Officers arrived at 252 Lafayette Street which was fully engulfed in flames.
Seven people made it out of the home safely and were transported to local area hospitals for evaluation due to smoke inhalation. They are listed in stable condition.
Garden City Park and Mineola Fire Departments responded and extinguished the fire.
One female was found deceased inside of the home. The Nassau County Fire Marshal was on scene. The investigation is ongoing.
