Share

A new Korean barbeque restaurant has opened up in the spot where Aki Japanese Cuisine used to be. Aki moved to Larkfield Road, leaving the space at 2074 Jericho Turnpike vacant.

Taking over is Korean Grill, which opened in March.

The barbeque menu includes prime short rib ($48.95), ribeye ($53.95), and a mushroom bulgogi, a marinated thinly sliced beef tenderloin with mushroom, onion, and scallion ($39.95).

Special dishes include an army stew with pork, spam, sausage, vegetables, ramen noodle, baked bean, tofu, cheese, kimchi, oyster and enoki mushroom ($64.95) and a spicy stir fried squid dish with vegetables, udon noodle in spicy sauce ($35.95).

They also feature bibimbap, a Korean dish served over rice with fried egg, Korean chili sauce and miso soup.

Korean barbeque has been becoming more and more popular on Long Island and reviewers are giving this new spot high marks.

On Yelp, Diane S, from Farmingdale, gave them five stars.

“As a Korean American who lived in Long Island for over 10 years, I am so thrilled that I finally have a go-to Korean restaurant to stuff my face,” she wrote.

Susan L, from Dix Hills, agreed.

“Hooray! Suffolk County finally has an amazing Korean Restaurant,” she said. “I have been waiting so long for this to happen. The BBQ is charcoal which makes the grilled gogi meats more flavorful and authentic.”

Location: 2074 Jericho Turnpike, East Northport, (631) 499-9999.
