Nassau Police Report Arrest Made in Connection with Fatal Long Beach Shooting

The Homicide Squad reports that an arrest has been made in connection with a Fatal Shooting that occurred on Friday, April 7, 2023 at 10:38 PM in Long Beach.
According to Detectives, Long Beach Police responded to a shot spotter activation in the vicinity of Sycamore Court. Upon arrival, Officers discovered Shawn G. Usher of Long Beach, 33, in a parking lot in the vicinity of Sycamore Court who had sustained multiple gunshot wounds.
Usher was transported to a nearby hospital where he was pronounced by a hospital physician.
The Homicide Squad Detectives report the arrest of Ronnie Sutton, 49, of 29 East Hudson Street, Long Beach, in connection with the above incident. Ronnie Sutton is charged with Murder in the 2nd Degree and two (2) counts of Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the 2 nd Degree. He will be arraigned on Thursday, April 20, 2023 at First District Court, Hempstead.
