Four Arrested in Connection with Knifepoint Kidnapping, Robbery & Assault of Victim, NCPD Say

The First Squad reports the arrests of four individuals for a Robbery that occurred on Monday, March 20, 2023 at 11:56 pm in Baldwin.
According to detectives, a 24-year-old male victim was in front of a School Drive residence when he was approached by four subjects that were known to him. The defendants forced the victim into their vehicle and drove off. The subjects forcibly took the victims cell phone and wallet at knife point while in the vehicle. The victim fearing for his life complied and gave the subjects his belongings. The subjects had the victim exit the vehicle near the intersection of North Main Street and Randall Avenue in Freeport, before fleeing the scene in an unknown direction. The victim walked into the Freeport Police station to report the incident.
The victim suffered minor injuries.
After a thorough investigation, Freeport Police located the four subjects at Guy Lombardo Avenue and Southside Avenue, placing them under arrest without incident.
Defendant Brian Gonzalez Valdez, 25, of 249 East Dean Street, Freeport, is charged with Robbery 1st Degree, two (2) counts of Robbery 2nd Degree, Kidnapping 2nd Degree, Assault 3rd Degree and Criminal Possession of a Weapon 3rd Degree. Defendants Waldi Victoriano Perez,23, of 55 Southside Avenue, Freeport, Edily Durancanela, 26, of 373 Woodfield Road, West Hempstead and Alexis Collado, 39, of 55 Southside Avenue, Freeport, are all charged with Robbery 1st Degree, two (2) counts of Robbery 2nd Degree, Kidnapping 2nd Degree and Assault 3rd Degree.
They will be arraigned on Wednesday, March 22, 2023 at First District Court, 99 Main Street, Hempstead.
