The Major Case Bureau reports the arrest of two men during a Narcotics Investigation that occurred at 3:35pm on Tuesday, February 14, 2023 in West Hempstead.
According to Narcotics/Vice Detectives, an investigation was conducted at the Smoke Depot located at 177 Hempstead Avenue where it was determined that psilocybin chocolate bars, cannabis, and gummies and vape cartridges containing Tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) were being sold.
The store clerk, Defendant Syed Haider, 33, of 2143 Waltoffer Avenue N. Bellmore was arrested at 3:50pm without incident. The store owner, Defendant Syed Hassan, 53, of 1447 N. Jerusalem Road East Meadow was arrested at 5:35pm without incident.
A large quantity of products containing THC, psilocybin, cannabis and US currency were recovered from within the store.
Defendant Syed Haider is charged with Criminal Sale of a Controlled Substance 2nd Degree, Criminal Sale of a Controlled Substance 5th Degree, Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 3rd Degree and Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 5th Degree.
Defendant Syed Hassan is charged with Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 5th Degree.
Both Defendants were arraigned on Wednesday, February 15, 2023 in First District Court 99 Main Street Hempstead.
