The Third Squad reports the arrest of a North Carolina man for an incident that occurred on Wednesday, February 15, 2023 at 8:18 pm in Westbury.
According to Detectives, Officers observed a 2023 white colored Kia Seltos traveling eastbound on Corporate Drive failing to signal when changing lanes. The Officers conducted a Vehicle and Traffic Law stop and initiated an investigation.
The driver of the vehicle began to make furtive movements causing Officers to request the driver and passenger to exit the vehicle.
Subsequent to the investigation, a Black Beretta 92 Brigadier Elite 9MM pistol loaded with twenty-one rounds of ammunition was recovered.
Defendant Derrick S. Seidler, 34, of 1811 Fairfax Road Greensboro, North Carolina was arrested without incident. The female passenger, 38, was released from scene. No injuries were reported.
Defendant Derrick S. Seidler is charged with Criminal Possession of a Weapon 2nd Degree, Criminal Possession of a Firearm, Unlawful Possession of an Ammunition Feeding Device and a Vehicle and Traffic Law violation. He will be arraigned on Thursday, February 16, 2023 at First District Court 99 Main Street Hempstead.
