The Square has a new taco joint. Tony’s Tacos moved in this fall bringing their extensive taco menu with them.
This taco menu is loaded. Try the Chicken Mango Jalapeno with shredded chicken breast, mango, jalapeño, sour cream, and Tony’s mild green sauce ($5.50), the Shrimp Club Taco with fried shrimp, melted cheese, lettuce, pico, spicy mayo, and shredded cheese ($5.99), Chorizo & Peppers Taco with grilled chorizo, neapolitan style red peppers, and melted cheese ($5.50), or their Smoked Salmon with marinated sushi grade salmon, arugula, mayo, and red onion marmalade ($6.30) for just a few of their more delicious combinations. The list goes on.
Also try the fry. They have another list of original fires. Octopus Fries with melted cheese, grilled marinated octopus, caramelized onion, and jalapeño ($15.50) and the Food Truck Fries with melted cheese, crumbled Italian sausage, onions, and jalapeño ($10.50) both look tempting and get high marks.
Overall reviews have been positive.
On Yelp, TIna S, from Commack, gave them five stars.
“WOW What a great addition to Franklin Square,” she wrote. “The wait was worth it! So nice to have a new, clean, high quality food establishment open up in the Square.”
Maria S, from New York, NY, did not like it as much.
“Tacos where [sic]cold,” she said. “Beans tasted straight up from a can and the rice no good. The octopus fries was good.”
Michael W, from Franklin Square, was a fan.
“Amazing food and quick service,” he said. “Get there [sic]signature Peter Lugers taco you won’t be mad. Also super fast and pleasant staff.”
