Damar Hamlin, 24, is an American football player who has made a name for himself in the sport. Currently, he is a safety for the Buffalo Bills in the National Football League (NFL).
Hamlin recently suffered a cardiac arrest as he collapsed suddenly during a game versus the Cincinnati Bengals. The event took place following his tackle of Bengals wide receiver Tee Higgins. His condition has created a freight within the Football community as they await updates on his condition.
The Buffalo Bills Twitter account tweeted yesterday about the events that occurred during the Monday night game.
“Damar Hamlin suffered a cardiac arrest following a hit in our game versus the Bengals. His heartbeat was restored on the field and he was transferred to the UC Medical Center for further testing and treatment…”
As for an update on his current condition, The Bills have stated that Hamlin seems to be showing signs of recovery.
“Per the physicians caring for Damar Hamlin at the University of Cincinnati Medical Center, Damar has shown remarkable improvement over the past 24 hours. While still critically ill, he has demonstrated that he appears to be neurologically intact. His lungs continue to heal and he is making steady progress. We are grateful for the love and support we have received.”
As for the postponed game between the Bills and the Bengals it remains unknown whether it will be rescheduled as of now.
