NCPD Announces Arrests from “Project 21” Initiative Targeting Alcohol, Tobacco Sold to Minors

The Eighth Precinct reports the arrest of three (3) men during the “Project 21” initiative, which targets the sale of alcoholic beverages and tobacco products to minors.  The initiative was conducted on Thursday, January 12, 2023 in Nassau County.
According to officers, the Problem Oriented Policing (POP) Unit with the assistance of underage agents, the following individuals were arrested as a result of this operation:
  • Muhammad N. Sajid, 52, of 2060 Park Avenue, East Meadow, sold alcohol and tobacco products to a minor at Ali Baba, 756 Main Street in Farmingdale.   He is charged with Prohibited Sale of an Alcoholic Beverage and Unlawfully Dealing with a Child 2nd Degree.
  • Keven S. Carcamo, 22, of 551 Pinebrook Avenue, West Hempstead, sold tobacco products to a minor at Knockout 1 Smoke Shop, 630 Wantagh Avenue in Levittown. He is charged with Unlawfully Dealing with a Child 2nd Degree, Sale of Age Restricted Products to a minor and Violation of the Public Health Law.
  • Sanjaykumar Patel, 41, of 8297 Country Pointe, Queens Village, sold alcohol and tobacco products to a minor at Jelly Bean Convenience, 3103 North Jerusalem Road in Levittown. He is charged with Prohibited Sale of an Alcoholic Beverage, Unlawfully Dealing with a Child 1st Degree, Unlawfully Dealing with a Child 2nd Degree and Sale of Age Restricted Products to a minor.
The above defendants were issued Nassau County Appearance Tickets and are due back in First District Court, 99 Main Street, Hempstead on February 2, 2023.
