The Third Squad reports the arrest of a Brooklyn man in New Cassel.
According to Detectives, Officers observed a 2019 gray colored Dodge Charger with a suspended registration at the intersection of Prospect Avenue and Magnolia Avenue. The Officers conducted a Vehicle and Traffic Law stop and initiated an investigation.
The passenger of the vehicle began to make furtive movements causing Officers to request he exit the vehicle. Subsequent to the investigation an illegal black colored semi-automatic loaded Glock 43x firearm with ten 9mm rounds of ammunition were recovered.
Defendant Ishmel Cohen, 38, of 104 Gold Street Brooklyn was arrested without incident.
The driver of the vehicle, a thirty-seven-year-old male received a traffic summons and was released. No injuries were reported.
Defendant Ishmel Cohen is charged with Criminal Possession of a Firearm and Criminal Possession of a Weapon. He was arraigned at First District Court 99 Main Street Hempstead.
